Sometimes a flu shot will work and sometimes it does not. Some people are not able to take the shot due to certain health related issues. Foods that contain a powerful antioxidant called quercetin will incease your chances of avoiding the flu. They are apples, blueberries, broccoli, spinach, lettuce and onions. Cooking these foods can make quercetin more easily absorbed.
