Well, the groundhog saw his shadow, so 6 more weeks of winter. I am tired of winter. I get very depressed and down on the gloomy days when the sun isn't shining and I can't get out. I know this has been discussed before, but the older I get, the harder it is for me to handle so many dreary, depressing days in a row. I try to keep a positive attitude, and get out whenever possible, but there are days I just sleep alot. How does everyone else get thru?

Happy Ground hog day, I hate winter too. I wish the groundhog saw his shadow so that we all can spring.

I'm up at 5am with my husband, we get an hour of us time over coffee before getting the kids up at 6am, then its a mad rush hour to get them ready for the bus by 6:50am. Once they are off we have morning discussion of who is doing what here on the ranch and then we go our separate ways, him to do the cattle me to do all the other critter morning chores, then I'm back in the house, on here to see whats been discussed recently and update throughout while doing laundry and dishes and the other housework, some days thats about it, others its a new calf that gets my attention that came before it was expected and any other chores hubby needs help with, the kids get off the bus at 5pm, then its dinner, a little tv time (pc time for me lol) medications and BG checks for 2 of us then the kids are in bed and asleep by 9pm, hubby follows shortly thereafter and then its my time to do what I want, but by 10pm most nights all I want is a good nights sleep lol
The cold doesn't bother me like most folks, I don't own a winter coat just a jacket and we live where it gets as low as 20 below 0, I don't get sick from the cold and unless the wind is blowing more than 15mph on a cold day I do just fine, those days i dawn my jacket and gloves and do the choring. People think I must have been born and raised at the north pole in a previous life because I'm always hot regardless of the weather lol

I still work, part-time, which is nice -and just enough. As I've mentioned before, I'm active in church activities and volunteer work, which keeps me on the go. I try to take good care of myself so that I can continue being active. Altho there are times I wish I had more home time, I'd go crazy(ier) if I was unable to get out and about.

Mary I know exactly how you feel,I live by myself and I have a lot of those days too,it's very depressing.I try to deal with it by going up to the Fitness Center and working out for at 30mins a day, walk up and down the stairs, turn my music on loud and dance around it's gives me quite a workout..or I get on my computer and get on this site where I know there are friends I can talk to that will help me get through those rough days.Don't let it get you down Mary,if you need someone to talk to am here most of the time.I work on a weekend only so am on here on most weekdays.

I appreciate your comments. Unfortunately, I am on disability, so I can't work. That I miss. I do try to volunteer some in the summer time at a local musuem. I am on here a good bit, also. There are things I try to do every day, such as being on line, and phone friends and family, keeping in touch. However, sometimes, I am just don't feel up to that. Being on here does help cheer me up.

In Georgia we have our own groundhog, Gen. Beauregard Lee, who is predicting an early spring - for us, at least.

"LILBURN - Georgia's groundhog, Gen. Beauregard Lee, has failed to see his shadow, predicting an early spring.

The Southern varmint's prediction differed early Monday from that of his famous Northern colleague, Punxsutawney Phil, who did see his shadow, meaning winter will last another six weeks.

Beau emerged from his mock-up antebellum mansion at the Yellow River Game Ranch in Lilburn about 7:30 a.m. under overcast skies and a temperature of 30 degrees. A small crowd, many waving pompoms, clapped and cheered.

No official records of Beau's forecasts have been kept, but his owner, Art Rilling, has said he's only missed once in his career.

That one miss was a biggie. Beau called for an early spring in 1993 and the worst blizzard in decades blasted the South."

I have to have my quiet time, before I get my husband off to work, so I get up at 4:45am every day. I get him up at 6:30am.

With or without pain, usually with; I do my work and then rest.
I go hard on myself when it comes to the laundry and cleaning.

No matter how painful; it is theraputic.

I am divorced and live by myself, so that won't work for me. I wish I had someone to come in and clean my apartment for me though. That would be nice. LOL
