Hi guys.. I am writing to ask you guys what you prefer. I know everyone's body is different but would love your input. So, I am on coumadin for blood clots in my lungs. Feeling better and going back to work this week but with my new diabetic diagnoses I am really trying to make sure I count carbs. The coumadin makes my breath smell yucky and dries my mouth out. I know it is not my sugar cause my sugars levels are great now.. What do some of you guys eat for breath freshners or do you eat sugar free candy.. If so what is your favorites.. I just need to put something in my pocket so I won't blow away my coworkers or customers.

Also, been having big toe numbness. I saw that maybe biotin or B12 can help the numbness and also carbs. Anyone taking this supplement and if so what is the best kind you have found and how much do you take?? I know there are people out there who have done their homework on this. I am searching too.. but would like a little help from my friends.. that way when I see my doc.. I can say my friend take this should I?? ha.. Trying to be my own advocate..

So, unfortunately, I have a profession that sometimes we don't get a meal and I am really worried about this. I hear if I don't then my liver can dump sugar and cause my AIC to go up. So, is there things I can eat in my pocket other than celery, carrots and grapes?? I never used to get a meal even in a 12 hour shift and always had M&M in my pocket.. Now, I haven't had candy since diagnoses in April. can you guys help me please.. I am doing so well and I am afraid that this job is going to make me go backward.. Please help.. thanks Mary

Yes, M&Ms. my favorite color was… All colors. Hopefully you won't be eating those anymore, But I believe gabby is on the right track with taking nuts with you. Also, as she said, ALA helps a lot of people with neuropathy.

You should always talk to your doctor about supplements. I won't take them.

I eat wintergreen mints but carry both sugar free and the real kind. As far as meals, I would talk to my boss and tell him/her that as a diabetic it isn't good for me to skip a meal. The job is only going to make you go backward if you allow it. I would be looking for another job if I had one that caused me to skip a meal. By law if you work 8 hours you are suppose to have a lunch break.

Unfortunately that is not the case with healthcare. They can work us for 12 hours without a break. Not looking forward to the next six days. Thanks for the suggestions Joyce!!

Nuts are always a pocket friendly food. Even something like an Atkins bar might work out if you really can't get a meal. But I would talk to someone to see if you can at least get some kind of a break that you can eat something balanced. It really is best.

I chew sugar free gum for wetting my mouth when I can't drink something. There are many gums that are made without the aspartame, but they cost a lot.

I take Alpha Lipoic Acid to help with my feet. 600 mg twice a day. I am not aware of any interactions, but you might want to ask your pharmacist.

I use Swanson's brand, they are a mail order company. It takes time to build up, but after a week, I find I can sleep better with less bothersome issues.

Tic tac mints work well for me. Sf gum? Sf life saver mint also work for me. Can u keep small packets of peanuts or almonds in your pocket? Nuts usually tie me over
