Good for you. Remember the old saying "A journey of 1000 miles starts 1 step at a tim time" You and your hubby are doing something so beneficial. Your Ai

My wife and I walk some every week…typically a minimum of 2 miles…usually no more than 4 on any single walk. I love the time with her and I know that it's helping my health in many ways…it definitely helps with my BG levels. Thanks for the post and make sure 'hubby' keeps up with you!!!!

One of the best things I ever did was to start walking. There are only a few months here in CNY when the weather is conducive to walking but I make the best of it. StrStarted out walking 1 mile and now I am up th 5-6 miles. Great exercise and it sure helps my Type 2

Good luck, msann! I walk a lot and I go to Curves too! It helped me lose more than 80 pounds. You can do it!

That is great! I walk nearly everyday usually for at least 10 minutes. I would walk for longer except the neuropathy in my feet and legs begins to bother me too much. Just stay motivated and you can do it!

It's great that your partner is also an exercise partner. I think that helps motivate us to get us moving rather than relying on our own motivation. Congratulations.

Back when I had all my limbs I used too do some Isometric Exercises before I did any exercising. Its always helpful if you've loosened up before You do any exercises. Have Fun

I like the way you and your husband are walking together. You're making activity a part of your daily routine which is going to help you continue to reach your goals. ~Lynn @Glucerna

that is great! Keep up the good work! I love to walk, I love fast walking, start out slow and build up for at least 20-25 mins, and then go back slow and cool down and do stretches before and after.

Congrats and prayers for you and your husband making it to 5 miles. Just don't push yourself to hard and pull a muscle in your leg like I did or any thing like that. I went to Curves. They had a study where I used to live and needed 5 volunteers so I did it. I didn't lose any weight but it did seem to give me more energy. I enjoyed Curves but they don't have one here where I live now. We just go walking at the moment but we have a lot of plans for things to do. My husband is building us both a Kayak but it will probably be next year before they are finished. I think the rowing will be good exercise.
GOOD LUCK !!!! for both of you.

Yes good luck to you both..I was born with bad feet and legs so walking for me is limited..I go to Walmart a couple times a week grab a shopping cart and walk the entire store…I know it's not much but I'm now 67 figure anything is better than nothing…

howdy ECM
Out here in Las Vegas most of the wal-marts have powered shopping carts.
For me they are a life saver. I do walk a good deal other ways but to take on a superwalmart without the power cart would be really exhausting.

Understand James…I try not to use the electric carts do if I'm having a real bad day…I see so many young people using them when you can see there's nothing wrong with them…My walking time usually lasts only 30 to 45 minutes…
