I was just wondering if there were those out there that maybe have supplies they don't use anymore for whatever reason, or changed meters and have left overs, etc that others may benefit from. I also wondered if we could post them in a thread here to offer for those that struggle to pay for the things they need. I realize many things have expiration dates but rather than throw things out if someone else could benefit from them could we post them here?

I have several meters that I purchased without insurance. I was looking to see if I could find another meter that I liked better than the one I currently use. Most of them I have taken one test with. If I knew there was someone looking for one I would be happy to pass one on but I understand the fear that people have about posting them here.

Occasionally i find that i get the wrong syringes, either the needle is too long or recently the syringe itself won't hold as much as i need. I've had extra monitors/strips as well from changing machines. I've always given these to my doctor to give to other patients that don't have insurance.

If you paid for them 100% out of your own pocket and without a prescription then you can do whatever you want with them. If you used a prescription to get them or insurance paid any part of them then you cannot give them away or sell them. Lots of legal issues involved with potentially massive consequences.

Oh no here we go again. This subject caused alot of hurt feelings the last time this was brought up. Please everyone do this in private e mails.

I appreciate your heart and generosity very much. I spoke to John about this, and there are far too many legal issues that come in the form of insurance fraud and the like. So posting it on here is not recommended.
What I would suggest is seeing the people that have expressed needs in the discussions and respond to them in a private email if you have something that might help them out.
Many people have done this for me and I am eternally greatful for that. I have also shared some things with others as well. It is sad we have to do it that way, but it is the safest for the site. We don't want it to have to be closed down because of "possible abuse".

Thanks Gabby, thats what made me think of it because someone else on here had something I needed that did not any longer, I understand what your saying about the legal issues and such, thats part of why i was wondering about it too, this clears it up for me thanks again.
