Small rant

I have just been reading some of the ultra low carb recipes here on DC. I just have to say that they sound really yummy. My problem is with some of the members comments.
Let me just say that a recipe is a SUGGESTION, it is an idea. It is not written in stone. If a recipe does not suit your own personal needs then change it around so that it does. If it has too much fat to suit you, then leave out some of the fat. If it has too many carbs then leave out the high carb ingredients. Better yet if a recipe doesn't suit you then move on to another one that does. Don't be nasty with your comments about the person who posted the recipe. It's all about choice! Isn't it wonderful how we all have the right to make our own choices?

Thank you for this post. I have found that often we just beat up the recipe instead of offering ways to make it work. I know every time I use one, if I tweak it, I share what I did so that maybe it will help the next person.

Not everyone has the same limits or tastes, and we cannot expect every recipe to fit our specific needs. Even the higher carb ones can be changed if needed, but sometimes I don't adjust them, because the rest of the family might like it the way it is.

If I like a recipe but it's not quite right for us, I view it as an opportunity to do my own thing. I don't think I've ever followed a recipe correctly in my whole life. Lol, I can always think of something different to try in there. On a sadder note a lot of those people don't really care about the recipe. When they are angry, hurt, feeling inadequate, and so one, they take it out on other people. We should probably try to forgive and forget.

You said it all! Choice, it's a beautiful thing!!! Stupidity is OUT!
With a bit of imagination, most of us can alter a recipe to suite ourselves.
I guess, for those with no imagination, or ability to think with flexibility, we should probably just be understanding.

Great post MrsCDogg. I totally agree with you. We are all different and need & eat different things. If I like a recipe I check like, I'f I need to tweek it to suit me, I tweek it. If I don't like it I move on and find one I do like.
I am so thank full we don't like all the same foods. I would have a hard time finding what I want in the grocery stores if we did. Thank you for this post, and you are welcome to rant any time you want to. We all need to rant once in a while to get our point across.

Trudie, I think there are so many people who think the world revolves around them so everything has to be about them. These days it seems people don't have common sense. If you don't like something find something you like and keep the nasty remarks to yourself.

Well dang MrsC, you really are ranting and I totally agree with you. Every recipe can be modified to fit your needs. You just have to know how to cook. The problem is people look at recipes as though Fred Flinstone carved them in stone. You can either use the recipe, modify it or go to something that will work for you. It is all about making a choice.

"Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate" kinda become my new mantra

I just shared that on my Facebook page. it is almost like saying if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with.

Ours is June 24. I just did a community walk with our State's Attorney who is running for re-election. I saw the Lt. Governor Sunday. He was with a friend who introduced me to him. He was amazed at what I do in the community with the Police Department and that I also am a commissioner on the Civilian Review Board. We also have to vote for a new State Senator and delegates. Thankfully, I know the woman who is also running for re-election and one of the people running for delegate. It is a plus knowing your elected officials especially if you are on a first name basis with them.

Wouldn't we be boring if we lived in a "One size fits all" world???? Let's celebrate diversity and our freedom to choose and allow others that same freedom!
