My readings used to stay around 130-150 after eating. I was without my Metformin for several months and when i finally got back on them my readings are higher. Running at the highest 202. Could it be because i was without my Metformin? Was told even 202 wasn't that bad. I finally get to meet with a Nutritionist next week so will get the right information I've been waiting on. Also would like new friends on here please that i can talk to.

Talk with your doctor about his goals for you for fasting blood sugar and blood sugar before meals. It will help the dietitian if you write down the time you eat, what you eat, and how much you eat between now and when you meet with her so she can get an idea of your usual eating habits. ~Lynn @Glucerna

Curious to know who told you that 202 "wasn't that bad" … a health care professional? Certainly a lot higher than I would be comfortable with.
My understanding is that Metformin can take up to 2 months to be fully functional.

Howdy TNeecie
I had recently invited you to be my friend.

I am curious as to all this time you've been without the Met had you been taking your Blood Glucose (BG) levels?

202 is not a good number. The person who told you this seems to me rather ignorant about diabetes and what can happen with a BG number that high. It is said that one runs the risk of Diabetes related complications when numbers are over 140 mg/dl for any period of time.

I pray you have all your questions written down for the dietician. I know that If I don't I seem to forget them.

God's best to you and yours

Thank you. I to thought that 202 was high. I've been checking my sugar regularly and can say I haven't had high numbers lately. I take 2 Metformin in the morning and 1 in yhe evening.

That's good to hear that the Met seems to be working for you. What are your BG numbers running now in general?
