So, on the evening of May 8, I was napping in my favorite chair. Suddenly I awoke with the feeling that if I didn't move I was going to die. The room seemed to be getting dark too. I got up and checked both my blood pressure and blood sugar. My blood sugar was ok but my blood pressure was 178/104! I sat at the kitchen table for a while but the feeling didn't go away. That was when I told my husband to get me to the hospital! Before we got there I started having a weird burning sensation in my left upper chest and shoulder. I had all the tests at the hospital, cardiac enzymes were negative. Had a stress test which was good except for one area the doc couldn't see. So, last Monday I had a cardiac catherization and the doc placed two stents. One of the areas was blocked by better than 90%!
Fast forward to today and I am feeling better. Yesterday was a really good day! I felt better than I have in a very long time. I suppose it will be a while before I am 100%.
I guess you just never know when stuff is going to happen.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! It means a lot. I'm dealing with some digestive issues now so not feeling too well, but it's gonna get better!

I'm so glad you paid attention to how you felt and went to the hospital. It sounds like you're feeling better already, and all the best to you as you continue to recover. ~Lynn @Glucerna

Oh my! All of that is just scary to read, and you had to deal with it. So glad to hear that you are feeling better now. Kinda weird though that your only readable issue was the blood pressure. Take care of you. If you have to cut back on numerous things, do it. You're worth it!

Glad you took action so the Drs could find the problem! A close call! Glad it came out OK! Praise God!

sorry this happened, but glad you are ok! I hope you continue to recover well. perhaps your posting this and since you described the symptoms, it can save someone else and they will know for someone to get them to the ER.
