I will eat like peanut butter n crackers or pretzels before bed or a Greek yogurt. The other issue is I will have a severe low Iike n the 40s which is very low to me coming from highs of over 400s. I tend to over eat too much carbs but not to worried I just have a huge high sugar n the morning. My scare is when it's in the 100s n I've taken my nighttime meds n I just eat little bit n I don't want my sugar to bottom out. Just scared.

I was advised by my nurses to eat 1/4-1/2 cup of ice cream. It worked for me, and it was delicious so…maybe you can try it out. :) good luck!!

Howdy Gina
If is is dawn phenemonon (aka "liver dump") you are trying to avoid, may I suggest what my GP suggested to me when I was having high fasting readings some years ago.

He suggested that if my Blood Glucose (BG) level was about 130 mg/dl just before bed I was to eat a snack of a complex carb paired with a protein. Example was a couple of apple slices slathered with peanut butter. I followed his advice on that and no more high BG levels for the AM fasting reading.

God's best to you and yours
