Sorry I don't get on here very much. So I am sorry if I missed a discussion about this, but does anyone else have a problem with heat.seems that this spring is already taken a toll on me.

I never liked the heat, but this year I turned on the AC when it hit 80. I feel sick to my stomach otherwise

I live in Arkansas and our heat is full of humidity which just drains my energy and I sweat profusely all the time as it is. I try to keep near a fan at all times.

Thanks to everyone that responded. We live in Virginia. IT has already been in the 80's and 90's here. The humidity very's so much. I was afraid that it was just me. We have a 12 year old daughter that has ms so she can't take the heat either.

Howdy Rex
Yes, we're almost into summer now and that means soon we'll have in Las Vegas NV temperatures of 100 degrees F 24/7! Gotta have AC to survive through the summer here. (but as we joke about it here, "yeah but it's a DRY heat" - and I much prefer a dry heat to the humidity I grew up in Nw OH).

There has been lots written on the relation of the effect heat has on diabetes, You can find a lot of info by querying the search function here on DC. A list of what is found about "Diabetes and heat" here ~ http://www.diabeticconnect.com/search?query=H...

Sorry the spring has taken such a toll on you.

God's best to you and yours

Not yet, I'm in upstate NY, and it's been nice, But when the temps start to rise, I stay inside with the AC.I feel sorry for you folks in the south. Try keeping cool cloths around your neck and drink plenty of water.

I was out today for 3 hours with a client and boy was I beat. The heat bothers me a lot and I don't care for it. It tends to keep my BS high. I think because I have a harder time keeping hydrated. I try not to be out in the heat and limit my outdoor activities to early morning and some late nights.

Me too no more complaning about our heat.
OOPs wow the temp. today after the storm has dropped drastic this week, from high 80's and low 90's to 53 in the day and 42 at night. Ok, I give up, Please give me some more 80, and 90 degree heat.

Here in Maryland when the temp is 90 degrees and the humidity is is almost the same, I do not leave my house without a bottle of water. I try to avoid being out during the hottest part of the day and if I do go out, I wear cotton clothing because it breaths and keeps you cooler.

The best thing for heat is staying hydrated. I take a cool shower or bath once I come inside as it helps with cooling off. I also eat lighter foods.
