Gastroparesis happens when your blood sugars run too high and your vagus nerve gets damaged as a result. Very real, very unpleasant. I am also expected to have this, and it has scared the bejesus out of me. I like sitting with my family and having a meal. It's bad enough having leftovers when I make a stack of pancakes for everyone else for breakfast. Ultimately, this could end with you having to place a nutritional "supplement" directly into your small intestine through a tube that sticks out of you abdomen.

As far as a secret formula, I know of nothing for a cure. If nerves are damaged, they are damaged permanently. The best thing you can do is slow down the deterioration as much as possible by controlling your blood sugars.

Howdy Jakianne.

Unfortunately GP is real. There are a lot of folks here on DC who suffer from it. The software which suggests topics has at the bottom: "Gastroparesis…Anyone know more about it?" (discussion from 5 yrs ago) ~
and also on the sidebar a discussion from 4 yrs ago: "Gastroparesis" ~

You might also find more discussions and articles on GP if you go to the search function here on DC and query for Gastroparesis.

God's best to you and yours
