Diabetes runs heavy on both sides of my family. Most individuals in my family were diagnosed with it earlier in life than I was. So I wasn't surprised when the Doctor informed me. Since both of my parents were diabetic, I at least have an understanding of what my journey will be like for the rest of my life. The change in diet, the daily monitoring, and injection routine. I am by no means thrilled with this, but I know that God doesn't give us more than we can handle. So I'm going to stay positive and move on! :-)

Way to stay positive and keep at it!!! When I was diagnosed; I thought it was the end of the world but I now see it as a blessing to learn how to love myself and take care of myself. I haven't always done good and made the right decisions but it definitely has made me grow up.

It's a good idea to ask your doctor for a referral to a diabetes education program. A lot has changed about diabetes management in the past few years, and it's really helpful to get the latest information so you can manage diabetes and feel great. ~Lynn @Glucerna

She already has made the referral. I'm an Accountant and I just haven't had time to follow up. I have 3 RN's in my family who have been an awesome source of information already. Thanks so much for your concern!
