I should have posted this earlier, but I hope all of you weened visitors to the site take some time to tell Washington about your need for testing.

You may recall the Strip Safely campaign from a few months back. Well, they sat down with the FDA and got some things rolling.

Visit here to read the article which has all kinds of great links to places you can watch the live meeting and be active in getting your input out there. (you have to scroll down to the FDA Live Chat Article

Here is a direct link to the page for your input:!home

I read all that I could find there and watched both videos. Now my question is Why keep approving new meds but still keep them priced so high no one can afford them. The older folks do need to be able to keep track of their BG levels daily and it is wrong that they take them away from them when they hit the age of 65 what we all need to do is start complaining to our Insurance Companies, our Reps and any one else that will listen to us. Don't stop and one day they will hear us and do something about it.

Sorry I missed it. This is the first chance I have had to use my computer in several days. I hope you are able to get some things done. I say nothing ventured nothing gained. I think you are awesome for trying!!!!!

I have to agree with James. If you are not saying what they want to hear, they are not listening. I sent a letter to my Senators and Congressman on something last month and got the customary response. Total waste of my time as I knew it would be. I do not pay any attention to these kinds of things because it is basically, window dressing. Odds are they will post what they want posted as long as it is what they really want to hear.

Well I found out if were not listened to by them then the next step is to call our Local TV Stations and sound off to them. My Local TV Station has followed up on my call to the People in Charge asking why we don't hear back from our Reps in the State House or even in Washington DC and they got some one talking to them now on my issue hopefully it gets us some where.

I know my state senator and all three delegates personally as well as my City Council President and City Council representatives. I am on their personal Facebook pages and follow them on Twitter. I always get a response from them. I don't use the media simply because I did not get a response from my Congressman. I ask him when I run into him at meetings. I don't sweat the small things. For people who don't have the relationship I have with my elected officials they have to do what they have to do to get a response.

I just put in my two cents. They say it will be an "indefinite" time until it appears on the site, but they gave me a nifty tracking number to find it later. 1jy-8bvq-1qpg

You can be a public or as anonymous as you choose when you post your concerns. We complain that it seems no one is is our chance. Go for it.

Just because we can and do comment doesn't mean they are listening, especially if what we say is not what they want to hear.

Did you read the article or watch the video? It was a sit down with the FDA and they drafted up some guidelines. I am not a fan of the FDA, but if we don't try, nothing will get done. This was set up for the sole purpose of them at least wanting to listen. It's not for "every issue you have", but for meter and test strip accuracy and how we need it.

Better to have tried and failed, than to fail to try.
