Every now and then there are recalls of our supplies and products. I received this notice from WebMD for a recall of GenStrip Blood Glucose Test Strips. http://www.webmd.com/diabetes/news/20140429/g...

"Anyone with the recalled glucose test strips should stop using them and switch to other strips meant to be used with the LifeScan OneTouch family of glucose meters, the FDA advised."

These recalled strips are 3rd party test strips advertised for use with the One Touch meters. (probably lower cost than the brand name ones) See www.fda.gov/Safety/…/ucm395270.htm. My One-Touch Ultra Blue test strips are not affected by this recall…just wanted to make that clear. That said, I'm finding more accurate results using my new Bayer Contour meter and strips.

I use the Breeze 2 wheel, test strips. Thanks for letting every one know. It always helps to stay informed.

Wow!!!!!! Those are the strips that I use! Many times a day! I just left a message on my endocrinologists number! I am supposed to be receiving a major order of those any day now. I had not in months received the control substance!!!!!!! I am to receive that control with this order

Please let us know what the outcome is. I am curious to exactly what the recall was all about.

If my reading is not up to what I think I should be…I would check again…as you say not all strips are right…

For those of us on mobile devices using the app I took the liberty of creating a short link:

If I am not mistaken this would affect just about anyone using the OneTouch meters.

That is what it sounds like. I know many of us use One Touch products. If in doubt, you can always call the service number that is on your test strips to find out for sure.

I actually just switch from the ultrasmart to the ibgstar about 2 - 3 weeks ago… I thought my meter was inaccurate, but…

Does this recall pertain to all lots, or just some specific. My own experience has been that if you obtain an unexpected value, test again. Test strips are not 100% reliable.

Thank you for this notification although I don't use this particular kind we should all be aware of recalls.
