What is the lowest b/s reading you should have 2 hrs after eating.
I have had some at 100. Is this okay or to low.

I think my lowest 2 hrs. after eating, was around 70. I am normally around 100 w hrs. after, or in the 90s although over the last few yrs., there has been quite a few times I was 120 or so. When I went to D class not lng after diagnosis, they told us ideally it should be 120 or lower at that time. I agree. I do think that 150 two hrs. later is a bit on the high side. that is my opinion.

As long as you are feeling good and the numbers you had before the 100 were not too low, I don't see it as an issue. You are very fortunate to be able to get those kinds of readings.

I don't believe that there is a guideline for the lowest level of blood glucose after eating. A lot will depend on the individual, the type of medication/insulin you use, your activity level, and your overall health. This is a great question to ask your physician. ~Lynn @Glucerna

According to the ADA it is 180 mg/dl, Source: ~ http://www.diabetes.org/living-with-diabetes/...

But I consider that to be a bit on the high side. I'd rather it be around 150 mg/dl 2 hrs postprandial.

How did that 100 mg/dl work out for you?

I would guess that you may have experienced hypos with a Blood Glucose (BG) level that low.

God's best to you
