Hello I posted this in another area and I have not had any replys. I have been a diabetic for 5 years for the previous four i took metformin and all was well. This past yr Ive had lot's of stress mainly from work, but at home too. my diabetes started getting out of control and still is. i currently run 350 to 600 or Hi every day. I have lost 56lbs since Nov 2013. I have neuropathy in my hands and feet (especially feet!) now I believe it's moving into my arms and legs. If i bump either on anything no matter how lightly it feels like my skin is on fire where it bumped. I assuming this is probably due to my high sugars. I quit my job of 17 years per drs recommendation, so now no insurance, so im currently on a waiting list to see a physician, I saw my dr. last in January My question what am I looking at with sugars running this high and for about 8 mon. now. My vision has changed three times now. I pretty much stick to my diet and I am contining toose weight but it doesnt seem to be doing any good. The one area that I do not follow and that is because my husband gives me the shots because im paranoid of needles and that is routine. we cant seem to get that down that we are giving shots same time daily and nightly. so we are working on it very hard, but i'm concerned that my sugars have been so very high for so long now and I am experiencing symtoms of being muddle headed, the neuorapathy getting worse, the vision, what is is doing that I can not see and can it be fixed if I can get back on track with my sugars?

You're working really hard to control your blood sugar levels, but you need to see your doctor to get even more help. Most hospitals have a patient advocate who can help you find medical care even when you don't have insurance. I encourage you to see a physician as soon as possible. ~Lynn @Glucerna

I dropped alot of weight and got so confused that my wife had to rush me to the er in Jan of this year. They did a bunch of test on was to check for insulin in my system they did not find any since i hated needles i was only taking a shot here and there. The er doctor ruled it as a sucide attempt by not taking my insulin which resulted in a four day lock up in the psycho unit. You may need and insulin dosage change if i were you i would be calling my doctor and try to get an appointment sooner. My doctor has me going in evry 2 weeks since i got out.
