Hello! So im a lil new to all this… im currently on Lantus…for a few weeks now… still trying to figure it all out…Im waiting on my appointment with the Endocrine ( may 30th)…Im starting to get a lil scared about all this… Im working on changing my diet (super hard when others in my house can eat anything and everything). Ive been reading that Green Tea and Cinnamon can HELP get BS levels down… so I want to try… Ive just recently started having Calf pain… like what you get after walking for a long distance/time… so im trying to work that out… exercising a lil more and tweeking my diet more…

I agree with glycerin a, there is a lot to learn about diabetes, and insulin. We've come a long way since I was diagnosed, but the key to good health has always been the same… Test your sugars, watch what you eat, and exercise. I have spent the last 15 or so years living life as a "normie" and basically guessing what I should be doing with insulin and food. For the last four days I have buckled down again and quite honestly I haven't felt this good in years.

Welcome! You're right that there is a lot to learn about diabetes and how to best manage it, and it sounds like you're making progress in food choices and exercise. Are you also testing your blood sugar? You can ask your family physician for a referral to a diabetes education program, and also look at the information for people newly diagnosed with Type 2 here: http://www.diabetes.org/diabetes-basics/type-... Keep asking questions, and you'll become more comfortable as you gain knowledge. ~Lynn @Glucerna
