So, can someone tell me what bsl i have to look out for when i get hypoglycemic and hyperglycemic, and what a normal bsl would be?

Much love and appreciation! Invite me to be your friend! You'll be hearing more from me soon!

Howdy Eli
WELCOME to DC! Sorry you qualify for this shindig, but since you do, I'm glad you're here!

There is a LOT of information available to you on this website. The top blue band has a link "understanding diabetes". When the mouse hovers over those words you will have a dropdown with several subject links along the left edge. The very top one is for Type 1. You will, I'm sure get a lot out of that one.

As far as hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia it depends on your body.

Some folks feel the effects of HYPOs (lows) at a blood glucose (BG) level of 80 mg/dl and others feel fine somewhere down in the 40's mg/dl or below.

Symptoms of a hypo (which are similar to hyper) may be found in this video here ~ http://www.diabeticconnect.com/diabetes-video...

To combat a hypo follow the 15/15 rule which you can find here ~ http://www.diabeticconnect.com/diabetes-discu...

As far as HYPERglycemia that is a subject best discussed between you and your MD or your Endo, for that will have a lot to do with how you care for yourself with your T1D. .

As far as what a "normal" BG level might be, it is also a subject of debates here sometimes, but to us non-medical people the general consensus is somewhere between 70 mg/dl and 120 or 130 mg/dl. Again this is something to discuss with your medical team.

I would invite you to be my friend if I could, but I am unable to access profiles due to a longstanding software glitch between DC and my browser, But I'd love to accept your friendship request of me.

God's best to you and yours

James Baker
