Hi friend. I only have this problem like 2catty said when my BS is too low. I wish I had more to offer but I know when I'm running low, I can eat everything in the frig and never get full. I hope you get better soon! Take care, Angie

You are more than likely not alone. Diabetes, especially when sugars run in the higher range, or left untreated and not critically high are classic signs of what is know in the medical field as the 3 P's. Polydypsia, polyphagia and polyuria. These are; excessive thirst, hunger and urination.

I would first ask, what are your sugars running? Is the diagnosis new and do you take oral medicine or insulin for treatment?

You should check your sugar in instances when these types of symptoms are present. Also, it will beneficial for you to take notice of the types and amounts of food you are eating. It may also be related to what you are eating.
This would be a great time to perform a 2 hour postprandial blood sugar. ie. 2 hours after eating.

I hope this helps.

When my sugars run high, I am not hungry at all. But I am very thirsty. Now when my sugars are low I will eat everything that doesn't eat me first.LOL I almost becomes uncontrollable. I will shake so hard I can't hardly get the food to my mouth. Speaking of which, I feel my sugars dropping right now. I am starting to shake. I better go and treat it.

I feel hungry all the time. I know that carbs have a lot to do with it. I also use food as a coping tool so it is a learned behavior. Oh boy I have learned too well.!!! lol

How are your sugars doing? If your sugar is high and the glucose is not able to get into your system, then your body thinks that is time to eat again. Talk to your doctor and see a dietitian to discuss the different type of carbs and food combinations.

I don't mean one time, BUT EVERY TIME, I start eating wrong, I start to feel hungry all the time. If I don't keep my carbs low, I am in big trouble.

I've come to believe totally that everyone is different concerning their metabolism. Some people do get hungry quicker than others. BUT..being diabetic and eating more carbs than you can tolerate will get you in trouble everytime.

Best way to figure out your very own metabolism is to check your blood sugar every time you eat until you get a handle on what you personally can tolerate.

It takes a while, BUT, worth it in the long run.

I use to feel that way until I went to the DE class and learned I was eating wrong. It is better now. It had a lot to do with all the carbs I was inhaling

i have been trying to eat more fat this week, but it is hard to get out of the teaching that it is bad for you! i ate a pork chop at five thirty, along with some brocoli and a half of cup of mac'n'cheese. i already feel hungry! and it is only seven o'clock! also it wasn't a puny pork chop!

What kinds of food do you eat? Carbs will make you hungry quickly due to the insulin swing they cause. If you feel hungry try a little protein and fat. Fat is not an enemy. Fat is filling.
