I was reviewing an article on Diabetic Connect and social networking this morning and began thinking about how to get more TV news, newspapers, blogs, magazines to mention our diabetes community - - especially in the location of each of our members.

Do you know someone in the media in your city or town? Or are you just willing to call them up and let them know about how a site like Diabetic Connect is changing their local citizens?

We are looking for people who can put us in touch with these reporters in your city or town. The goal for us to get the word out and help more people living with Diabetes.

If any of you have any additional thoughts or ideas to help spread our message, please let me know.

Thanks for all you do to make the site a success. We have many surprises ahead for 2009.

I know a couple of human interest reporters for our local paper here in Ocala. I could contact them and see if they would help us out. Do you have a press release in mind or how do you want to accomplish this? Plus, there is always the editorial pages. I can always put something togehter if you give me a guid of what you want us to say.

We have some free newspapers pamphlet that you can put an ad in. I will try to do that, when my husband brings it home.

It is called the Treasure Hunt, and everyone reads it.

We had more, but because of the economy, we have lost those.

There are also a couple of online; free advertising sites for NJ; I will see about that.
