How do you resist or divert feelings of hunger, esp after you just ate?

Even when I know you ate, and I was full when I was down; I get the hunger feeling again, about 5 minutes after I eat. Does anyone else feel like this? If so, what do you do to control it?

May I ask if you drink much while eating? It's always a good idea to drink something when you eat a meal. 1-2% milk is filling. Free foods are a great suggestion also. I would recommend a cup of warm tea. It may help. It is so difficult to resist eating when you fee hungry. I hope this helps

Yes; drinking water is good to cut down intake while eating; I have heard that. My husband needs to do more of that. I try to tell him it is healthier.

I even keep 6 24 ounce bottles of filtered water in the fridge at all times, so everyone can drink it.

And, I hate any cold drinks that are really just warm

Could be you aren't eating the right foods to match you routine. If I have to work and know I won't be able to snack I eat properly. Before work I have a cup of oats with milk and sugar sub. and a little sugar. Two light boiles eggs or a toasted fried egg with the butter/jellie so I get my sugar enough to work with my routine. I leave home at 6:30 for 7:am clockin. Lunch at 12 and I usually am go to go in between. Very seldon will my sugar drop. My problem is is that I don't like to eat until4/5 oclock period. I have to make myself eat.Oh! the oats are in a plastic cup cause I am drivng and I ad lots of milk so its drinkable. I have found that regular cold cereal is also good with warm milk it has a different effect on your stomach also.

I was told that it takes 20 to 30 minutes for your stomach to register that it is full. So take at least 30 minutes to eat. Do not increase the amount of food, just the time it takes to eat it. You should still be eating when that secondary hunger pang hits.

Get frustrated, wait a few minutes and try to not think about it, go sneak something I shouldn't have (LOL).

I'm joking about it, but it really isn't funny, is it? I do get frustrated when that happens. I wonder if it's that our body is needing some particular something that we just didn't get in whatever we last ate. We may have eaten "enough", but just not the right thing for our body at that particular moment. The best thing, of course, is to try to get busy doing something that will help you not dwell on it. Getting out and walking is good too. Perhaps drinking something will help fill that last little spot. All we can do is try. Sometimes nothing is going to work but to eat something. We just need to try to make that something healthy that won't terrorize our BS. Let me know if you come up with some good ideas. Maybe someone else will help us out. Help!!

I always try and eat a protein whether it is a snack or a meal. Also loading up on "free foods" is what works for me. Eat alot of salad or alot of healthy cooked veggies. Have a hard boiled egg. Grab a piece of string cheese. I make a snack of pickles and ham. Take a piece of ham, spread it with mustard and wrap it around a pickle spear(dill or sweet) it is great and low carb. Or make a salad of cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions with fat free italin dressing and then when you put in bowl add some diced chicken or ham. Very yummy. I keep all kinds of cut up veggies in the front of the fridge so you see them when you open door and grab them instead of something bad. Also have a variety of things to drink on hand. I love crystal light. so I have 2 pitchers of different kinds and drink them. My doctor said if you think you are hungry and it is not time, drink something and wait 30 minutes. If you are still hungry then eat something. Most times it will pass if it is not time.
