My Diabetic Connect friends, we're so happy to introduce a new feature here on this great community. If you'll look in the upper right of this page (you have to be logged in to see it), you'll see a new "globe" icon. This new icon will give you quick notifications of what has happened since you were here last.

Whenever there's new activity from your friends or interactions with your discussions, replies, comments, or contributions, the icon will turn dark and a red number will indicate how many new notifications you have. Clicking on the icon will drop down a quick preview of the 5 most recent items.

You can click an item right from the preview and go check out the new activity.

There is also a "See All" option that will give you a list where you can quickly see and interact with all of the new activity since you were last on the site.

We appreciate all of our members who have provided feedback to us about the need for this feature. We hope you like it and that it helps you find the discussions and content that you are most interested in much faster.

If you have any questions about this new feature or feedback, let us know. And as always, thanks for making this community great!

Nice to have notifications again and glad they are NOT in my personal email. This looks easier to use. THANKS!

I have found that if you ask it to view all notifications it goes to a page like our email and it is much easier to read and choose what you want to look at or delete.

is there a place to click on the notification and send it away? Doesn't appear to be for now. I run into a lot of updating of profiles, and currently I cannot view profiles due to a glitch in the system. Seems like I will get a much longer list of notifications altogether

Yes, in both the preview drop down and on the "See All Notifications" list, there is an "x" in a blue circle to the right of the item. If you click on that, it will clear out the notification.

currently it is not visable in either, at least for me.

That's so strange. We're trying to recreate what you're seeing and it seems to work in each browser that we try.

There is one other way you can clear them out. From the "See All Notifications" page, you can select the checkbox to the left of the item, and then select "Delete" from the dropdown menu at the top of the page.

I found that to be much easier. It's larger and my deleting of them when I am done is much faster.

I just looked at it. I was either on twitter or facebook and was getting announcements about who was now friends with someone. I turned it off because I really don't care who someone is friends with.

I think it would be good to have a place where you can see if someone responded to your comments since the email feature really sucks at it these days.

Currently @ 4:30 PM PDT I am seeing the red numbers but not the globe icon. Never had seen it and wondered what the two numbers represented. Now I know.

Something like this has long been needed!
