And to add to the good AlC, I got a call from medtronic and they are trying to talk my insurance into getting me on the medtronic pump! I love my omnipod, but I love the CGM feature on this pump, and it will help me get into much better control! I'm so excited and I can't wait to see if it's possible for me to get it as soon as next month! :)

Best wishes to you. And please keep us posted.

Great job on the A1c and good luck with the new pump. I've been bottoming out every day lately, can't wait for the Tslim to add that feature with the Dexcom.

That is great. You will have to share how you did that. There are so many who could use help in getting their pumps and CGM's covered

Hi Jay! I've been using a Medtronic Minimed 523 pump since 2011 but haven't used a CGM. I wish I had tried the CGM when I could still get insurance help for it because, now that I'm on Medicare, Medicare won't cover the CGM's (bummer!) I haven't heard anything bad about the new Minimed 530G with Enlite pump. Everyone who uses one seems very pleased at the enhanced control it gives. It's the first FDA-approved device as an artificial pancreas system and includes "Threshold Suspend "
technology, which automatically suspends insulin for up to 2 hours when the sensor glucose levels (CGM) reach a preset low level, even if the user is unable to respond to the Threshold Suspend alarm to take measures to prevent or treat hypoglycemia themselves. I hope you are successful and would be interested in hearing how you would compare the Omnipod to the new Medtronic pump.
