Late last year, I have started feeling this vibration in my lower abdomen region. It comes and goes for about 5 seconds each time. It's so strong it feels like I have my cell phone in my pocket and sometimes I even check for it (my cell phone). It stopped for about a month but is now back again. Usually when I am moving around, I don't feel it… but when I am sitting still I feel it all the time. It is soooo annoying. There is absolutely no pain whatsoever … anybody know what this could be or have felt anything like it before?

I have had the same thing happen a few times. To me it kinda felt like the vibration of when you are pregnant and the baby first starts moving. It was only a few times and It doesn't do it any more, but at the time I did wonder what it might have been.

I wonder if it could be a side effect of one of my medications … I hope my doctor will have an idea. He'll probably order an MRI. Ughhh!!

I take Metformin and when I take it and it starts dropping my blood sugar it gives me gas. So I was wondering if this might have something to do with it. If that is all it is I would be ok with it. But like you, I would like to know. It has started doing it again but only once in a while.

I recently starting taking Metformin, along with Glipizide. Heartburn and gas along with it…this week i started feeling that vibrating in my right leg and inner thigh…OMG I thought I was going nuts. I thought it was my chair at work…worse when I am sitting.

You know what … I was thinking the same thing! Have you ever asked your doctor what it could be? I have a doctor's appt this Tuesday and I am going to talk to him about it. I'll keep you posted .

Just came in from my appt… he said it could be fibro vibration sensation so he took a blood sample to test my thyroid. I won't get the results back today but I will keep you informed. Check "fibromyalgia" and see if your symptoms match any of these. If it is ongoing … you probably want to check with you doctor. I told him that I didn't think much of it until it started happening again.

I have fibromyalgia,. They have been treating me for it for around 15 years. I will ask if it could be the problem when I go in June. Keep me informed on your test. I am curious about this fibro vibration sensation. I will also google it and see what comes up. Thank you so much, and have a great week.

I would be asking my doctor about that. It sounds pretty crazy, like when your eye gets that twitch that won't stop. It could be some kind of spasticity going on, but it's going to take a doctor to figure that one out...maybe.

If this has been going on since late last year why haven't you talked to your doctor? He is the only one who can find out what the problem is. The only time I have that feeling is when I am at a meeting and put my phone on vibrate.

Well it started in Dec and then it stopped. It only started happening again in the last couple of weeks and going to the doctor for this and for that can get costly. However; I think it is time to consult with him about the problem.

What is the monetary value you put on your life. I have a 900 dollar ER bill because I don't have health insurance and it was an emergency. I could not get to my doctor in time which would have been cheaper. I don't care what the cost is when it comes to saving my life. You can pinch pennies and not get it checked out. It could be a small problem or a major one but you won't know until you talk to your doctor.

I know people who will spend 100 dollars on a pair of shoes instead of using the money to pay the light bill. Then get mad because they have no power. They are in the dark with expensive shoes on their feet but they can't see them.

I'm sorry Just Joyce … maybe in my wording, I did not make myself clear. I never said I don't go to the doctor … I am very health conscious. I make every routine dr's and dentist appt, I eat right and when I have time, outside of work, church and school, I exercise. When I feel that I have a problem that needs to be addressed, I go see my doctor. I am up to date on my annuals and breast exams. Because there is no pain and the problem ceased initially, I did not think it warranted another doctors visit but because it has started again, I do think it should be addressed by my doctor, as I stated earlier in my posts. I asked this group wondering if maybe someone here had a similar experience and could maybe shed a little light, not because I thought I would find a diagnosis here … I mean that is what we do here right, ask questions, share experiences… Maybe I was wrong, maybe this is a group for bashers … if it makes you feel any better I have an appt with my doctor Tues morning where I will talk with him about it. I spend an excessive amount of money on prescriptions and on seeing my doctor and dentist because I do value my life and want to be here for my children as long as possible. I was merely saying that you weigh in because money don't fall off of trees. Thank you so much for your input. By the way, I do have several pairs of shoes… sneakers, boots, sandals, what have you that would amount to more than several hundreds of dollars (accumulated over time) but my light bill, other utilities, cable bill, internet bill, tithes, mortgage, car p'ment and health and dental insurances are current. Please do not imply that I am an idiot.

First I did not imply that you were an idiot. I would have told you that you were an idiot if I thought that.

I said what I said as an example of how people make poor choices. I am not saying that you do.

I said what I said because if you are health conscious you should have asked your doctor. Even if someone here had the same problem as you, their problem could be totally different from what is causing your problem. We are not doctors, and each person is different.

Personally, I don't care how up to date you are with medical exams or how many pairs of shoes you have or if you have power or not. I am concerned that you have a medical problem and I think you should ask your doctor.

As a former EMT, I was doing rotations in one of our ER's. A woman came it complaining of the same problem you are discussing. She had been having the problem for almost 5 months. She said the problem came and went but in the past 3 days it felt like constant vibrations and twinges. She said she put on a smaller size girdle to stop it. That was the last thing she said to us. When a nurse and I cut the girdle off, the aneurysm ruptured and she was dead before we could get her to the OR.

So you can ask if anyone has the problem but like everyone else has said. Talk to your doctor.

By the way getting angry at me doesn't bother me at all. I think you misinterpreted what I said.

I did not come here to argue with anyone … I just asked a question … and AGAIN I will ask my doctor … but saying that people have shoes and wont go to the doctor is an implication when you are posting it to my thread … I don't think I misinterpreted anything. I think you sounded annoyed at the fact that I asked the question here. There is no way on God's green Earth, I would let a problem persist without asking my doctor. Because I would rather be void of conflict and negativity I'm gonna stop this right here and thank you for your support.

Howdy Tara

I have vibrations in my left arm, but they are due to a vein and an artery which are sewn together (deliberately - it is called a "fistula") to allow a pathway for my blood to circulate more easily during dialysis treatments. The vibration in my case is called a "thrill" and for me it is a good thing.

I have not heard anything like you describe. I did query Google "sensation of body vibration" and got these results ~ I selected one which seemed interesting to me and found a discussion board where many describe the same bodily sensation ~

I only read the first couple of pages of the discussion and found no suggested cause for the sensation.

I pray you find what is causing this sensation and can ease or eliminate it!

Thank you so much for the links. I had googled the symptoms as welll and even though there are several others who have had similar symptoms if not the same, they also don't know what is causing it (according to the web), even after consulting their doctors. It is so annoying and it is ongoing all day long!! I welcome sleep because that is the only time I don't feel it. Thanks again.
