I'm type 1 diabetic and this is my first post ever. I'm only 20 and was wondering if anyone has tried teatoxes and if they are healthy for a diabetic t1?

Howdy Anon

WELCOME to Diabetic connect. Sorry you qualify for this shindig, but since you do, i'm glad you're here with us.

TeaToxes? Never heard of them previously. Thank you for suggesting to me another topic to explore. I did my usual Google query and came up with a lot of opinion pieces on Teatoxes, most of them positive.

One such blog describes the phenomenon in this fashion: "'teatoxes' which are, put simply, a blend of cleansing, natural ingredients which claim to detoxify, slim down and re-energise your body." ~ http://cardioandchanel.blogspot.com/2013/11/a...

There is also this from SHAPE magazine which sounds a note of caution (note: annoying advert before you get to the article) ~ http://www.shape.com/healthy-eating/diet-tips... The use of Senna leaf in many Teatox formulas is seen as a cause of concern because one typically is on a TeaTox program for 14 days, an extended length of time, and continued taking of Senna leaf could cause some continuing digestive difficulties.

Bottom line Anon, check it out with your Endo and or MD before you attempt something like this.

I myself think this and any Detox craze is just an attempt to part you and your money, But that's just me.

God's best to you and yours
