What Would Help You?

Hi, I am currently working on a project to develop a tool to help people with diabetes. The tool can be anything, website, diary, alerts, mobile phone application, etc.

What would help you the most? This does not necessarily need to be related to diabetes. BTW I am a web developer who is just looking for ideas to help. I know what helps me, but I want to build something that is less selfish.

Hi Jim,
I am so used to using what is available that I would be happy just to know what is out there for us to use. Maybe a central site that list sites for specific purposes. Or a "Diabetes Information Search Engine" sort of thing. Since I am a computer user and not a programmer or developer I have no idea if what I'm asking is even possible.

This is my BIG wish app… I would like an app that incorporates a diary, food diary, calendar with alerts, med tracker and log book that I can password for my private use. I know you can find apps that do this but I would like to find 1 super app that does it all.

That's a great list and I know there are multiple applications out there that do all these things. Maybe they just need someone to talk those developers into working together. I would love to build your "super app" but with limited time I was thinking about starting simple. Keep the ideas coming, though.

That's a good question - and a worthy project. I'll have to give that some thought and get back to you. I'm curious to see what type replys you get here. Are you a diabetic?

I agree with you Di, that is a qood question and needs some thought. I, too, will try to come up with some idea and make a post if anything comes to mind. I do like the idea that someone is willing to put in so much time into helping others. Thank you JDayton!! MaryS

My doctors have categorized (diagnosed?) me as "pre-diabetes." Until I did some research, I thought that made me inevitably Type 2. I've learned different. Thanks in advance for your ideas and help.
