I have not been on here for quite a while. I would like to know what you all drink instead of diet soda. I drink quite a bit of water but would like some other suggestions. Thanks! Sheryl

I drink mostly water, a little decaf coffee and iced tea with Splenda. If I am craving something different I like to make a tall glass of lemonade by using some bottled lemon juice, water, ice and Splenda. My husband enjoys the sugar free powdered drink mixes. I have found that if I have drinks with caffeine it raises my blood sugar.

Hi Sheryl—crystal light or other sugar-free sweeteners have always been a go-to, and am trying to do more iced teas (green, fruity, rose or hibiscus). Juice is delicious, and lately instead of buying the sugar-free or diet ones I buy regular/100% juice and mix it with water—might sound weird but it saves $ and the ingredients are the same as in diet juice.

I like the Ocean Spray Diet Cranberry Juice Drink and their Diet Blueberry Pomegranate Juice Drink. Both are sweetened with Sucralose/Splenda and have 2 grams of carb per cup.

Lou, The sucralose would be enough to turn me off to the diet ocean spray drinks.

I understand…sucralose/Splenda…is not everyone's "cup of tea" to mix metaphors. I don't get any adverse reactions to it nor am I overly concerned about it as an artificial sweetener. But, everyone has to make their own choices. I started drinking the cranberry juice drink to help avoid UTI's and it seems to be working. I'm thankful that I have an alternative to the sugar-sweetened version.

Lily, I drink water all day with Crystal Light. I also drink iced tea and coffee. I also drink diet pepsi. Some people drink coconut water. Sams Club sells flavored water. You can find it in Wal-Mart. Read the label. some has salt added to it.

Hi, Lily54 — I'm just reading your question and must say that I think diet sodas are the worst thing you can drink. The additives that they put in only make your blood sugar rise. Try as hard as you can to drink natural things with no additives, but remember before buying to look at the ingredients. When I do want something sweetened, I've always used Stevia, but I've tried not to use it simply because I'm trying to get back to a "totally natural" way of eating, not adding anything. Hope this helps you.

Prior to drinking a diet soda I tested my blood sugar. I drank the soda and tested an hour later. My blood sugar did not rise. Different people have different reactions which means not everyone's blood sugar will rise. Additives are added to just about everything we consume. Keep in mind that not everything that says organic is organic. The farm where the food is grown or raised has to be certified organic.

I don't drink diet sodas any more. The artificial sweeteners they use in them started making my headaches worse. I drink water, teas and herbal teas hot or cold, water with lemon, other flavored water, and one cup of coffee in the morning. When I sweeten I use home grown stevia.

I pretty much drink water. I have a coffee in the morning, a diet soda with lunch and water the rest of the day. On long workouts I will add some Gatorade.

I drink decaf sun tea or coffee. I like water with lemon or lime in it. I also drink a mix of coconut water, lime juice and aloe vera juice on occasion, but it has 5-10 grams of carbs. I have many herbal teas that I like hot or cold. I do tend to drink mostly water though.

Howdy Lily
I drink filtered water (brita filter bottle) and occasionally will drink a Mio analogue from Walmart (Great Value brand). They have many flavors.

God's best to you and yours
