My 19 month old - every day! She's a trip and all the entertainment we need around here. If not for her I don't know where I'd be right now. Just today she fell backwards off her little plush rocking horse and it looked bad. She rolled over real quick and said "I ok - mama I Ok" and got back up on that thing like it never happened, screeched and laughed and kinda went a lil crazy rocking because we put Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" on. She makes all my bad feelings go away. :0)

I've seen this billboard in 2 places here in my corner of Florida and it makes me smile every time I go by . In great big letters it says…"Erectile Dysfunction?" and then in smaller letters "One treatment lasts 4 months." Ummmm…isn't 4 months a bit toooo long?????

jayabee52 2014-04-07 14:18:04 -0500 Report

LoL! Lou! Yep in those commercials for the ED pills they say get medical help for an erection lasting 4 hrs or more. Yep 4 mo is definitely longer than that! LoL!

Oh, I have to share this. I was on a toll road the other day, it was hot, I was off course and a bit frustrated. I pulled up the the toll booth and there was a "minion" in the window (the little yellow characters from Despicable Me) and it not only made me smile, it made me laugh and I told the toll booth operator I really liked her minion. She smiled back.

there's one instance i remember and think of time to time.i think it was in the early 80's..and i was down in florida at time.i had decided to walk that day seeing how i didn't have that much to do or get that day.i had just left a cafe from eating breakfast and walking down the sidewalk.i passed a mother and daughter.i think daughter was 3 or 4 at time.but not sure.i said hi to them and we kept walking.we got just a few feet past each other.and thats when i got the best compliment a person can get from a child.she told her her mom.he's a nice man.and of course that not only put a big smile on my face.but one on my heart as well..

What a great question to ponder.

Since it's the 1st of the month and I was doing the major monthly shopping, it seemed everyone I met today was smiling and commenting on how wonderful the sunshine felt. We've had about a week of really nice weather…in the 40s ( F).

It's tempting me to move the firewood box off the deck and get out the deck furniture this weekend while my neighbor's son is home on Army leave to help me…a couple more things that make me smile :-)

Hey wasted wonder,

Nice to meet you! I have to say I am like just about everybody else I know. I have a weakness for puppies and kids. I walked by someone walking two matching shih tzus this morning on the way into my office. It was early so there weren't too many people on the street yet. The owner caught me smiling at them, and said hi and smiled at me. It's always great to start the day sharing a smile!

They are contagious. If you smile at a stranger they almost always will smile back. Do it with eye contact and you will get an even bigger smile. We really should "spread that" more often. =0)

Wow, this is hard one since I'm almost in a constant smile! Today was finally a beautiful sunny shiny day so that made me smile first thing!

I agree with you 'briarrose70'. I am also almost always with a smile on my face. This morning is beautiful, we may get some rain later but it is Spring (finally) and rain brings beautiful flowers. And like 'Gabby' said smiles are contagious and that's one contagion I don't mind infecting others with. I may be diabetic but I LOVE Life, my family, my grand children, and my friends including DC friends. I try to wake up every morning with a smile on my face, God in my heart, and thankful for another day.

So why does your diabetes seem to be making you feel down ?

Good question though- I can say for me that I don't like the lifestyle changes required to make it mostly because it's soooo darned expensive for supplies and even the healthy foods. I feel like I'm in a losing battle all the time but my daughter is what keeps me going and trying new things. :0)

Watching my goat kid, seeing that new life, picking him up to imprint and clean his head! It was amazing and our families first kidding. seeing that little goat stand up and walk after just a few minutes. It was a beautiful miracle of life. That mad me smile for sure. I was allowed to stay with my goat from the very start to the very end. Definitely smiling that evening.

I go through my day pretty much smiling, but the very last thing that just made me smile was sitting in a tattoo parlor with my hubby helping him pick out a new tattoo for his arm. He wants to do a hawk in honor of the ones we have in our neighborhood.

Gabby I use to stand out on the loading dock that was outside our room at the Flea Market and watch the Red Hawks flying around. You didn't see any other birds when they were circling around. One Saturday a vendor and I were watching them and I swear it was like a scene from the birds. One of the hawks was going after a small bird. Out of nowhere all of these birds came and swooped at the hawk and chased it away.

Last summer we went to a town in the mountains to the Christmas Store to get a tent. I saw an Eagle soaring. Then I saw a buzzard on the side of the road. I would not like to see one of them in the middle of the night in the woods. Those things are humongous and ugly.

GabbyPA 2014-04-02 08:30:31 -0500 Report

Yeah, I am not so sure I will like them so much when we get our ducks, but they never took any of our chickens.

We have turkey vultures down here that are "buzzards" and they are kind of creepy. And if you get close to them, they are really smelly.

Just Joyce
Just Joyce 2014-04-02 15:11:15 -0500 Report

I don't plan on getting close to them. We have bats that fly every evening between 7 and 8:30pm they will swoop down on you.

honor ?? lol : D))
i am thinking of a rat tattoo on my forehead but that would have to be in dishonor of the ones in my neighborhood.

GabbyPA 2014-04-02 08:31:32 -0500 Report

LOL...hey, I used to have pet rats. But I do have to say the wild ones are not my friends. Now a tattoo on your forehead...that is very brave. Ouch.

Just Joyce 2014-04-01 21:13:35 -0500 Report

I live in a city and there are 10 rats for every one person. This is what we do. We make paste out of Boric Acid and old peanut butter and roll it into balls and put it in a place where animals can't get to it. That kills them. You can also put out poison but you need to put water out for them to drink. Water activates the poison and kills them.

I have a new puppy who is adorable and sweet as he can be. He is getting use to being with us and is starting to grow. He is going to be 70lbs so he won't be able to sit on my lap to get hugged and snuggled.

What type of pup do you have? My Aussie pup is 1&1/2 years old 63 lbs and he will never be to big to sit in/on my lap to be snuggled and hugged. He is at his full size and won't get much bigger but even if he weighed 100 lbs. or more he has earned the right to sit in my lap, be hugged and snuggled every single day, multiple times a day. I credit him for saving my life. Of course when he sits on my lap you can barely see me since I am 132lbs and 5'2. LOL!

MicNeil 2014-04-03 08:26:22 -0500 Report

I had a Samoyed like that. He weighed about 75-80 lbs. and I was your size. What fun he was…my big baby :-)

They are awesome ( our pets ). They give us so much and only ask for a little love in return. Of course I totally spoil mine. I only have one at a time. This is my third and I don't think I would be as happy without a baby, and they are my baby forever. My first baby Pete lived to be 15 which is a very old for an Aussie. My second baby Cody died from a massive tumor at 7, I had it removed twice and they wouldn't operate on him again. Now I have Sam.

Wasted, I don't dwell on what I have lost. I look at what I have gained. I am the Vice President of my community association. The President of the Police Community Relations Council. I was sworn in by the Mayor last year and now I sit on the Civilian Review Board. Added to that, my sister and I make jewelry and sell it at fairs. We just bought a Vintaj machine copper and brass sheets and a buffer/polisher and started making jewelry that way. I have to do a police twitter ride along with one of the detectives, I also have to do a ride along for my board training. I am always busy and I always find a reason to smile.

I am Just Joyce, no airs about me. I am direct and to the point. I don't sugar coat anything, I don't know how…LOL
