Needing help eating the right things

Hello I have had diabetes almost 3 years and been on Insulin a year now I am finding it difficult finding a balance on what's right to eat and not eat. Any advice I would be thankful for

Apples seem to spike my blood sugar, I avoid them and now bananas are on my avoid when possible list. Raspberries are kind of low in carbs thank goodness

You can ask your doctor for a referral to a registered dietitian who will help you figure out the best meal plan for your individual situation. There's also excellent information on nutrition and eating on this site in the "Understanding Diabetes" section. ~Lynn @Glucerna

I have completely gone no white ie rice flour potatoes. I eat all whole grains sweet potatoes. Nothing instant except pudding sf. Berries, apples, peaches, nectarines are all good. I weigh and measure EVERYTHING! Then cover for what i eat. Snacks, i use a lot of atkins or south beach items. Glucerna snack drinks for when im not really hungry but have to eat/drink something. That doesn't happen often. Hope this helps. Remember everyone is different and foods have different effects
