I went to the doctor yesterday. I am still upset. He told me I might have blockish in my legs. It maybe from my diabetes or family history, which is really bad from heart disease. He told me he was going to put me on blood thinners, but I was so upset that we are going to do a CT scan of my legs first. I know I have not been taken good care of my diabetes. I had it for the last 4 years. I am so up set. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes..I have peripheral artery disease in both my legs.PAD is the narrowing of arteries causing a reduced blood flow to your legs which can make walking very painful at times; The CT scan will give your doctor a better idea of whats going on..The two major causes of PAD is smoking and diabetes..Good luck with the results of your CT scan

Sometimes things are more related to age and family genetics than diabetes. Diabetes doesn't help, but it's not always directly the cause.

What is blockish? I am thinking you are meaning blockages in your veins?

yes I am and has scared me to death. I have been telling my primary care doctor for the last ten years that I have pain in my legs and he said " oh just lose some weight, yr just toooo fat." Why do they blame everything on just being to fat instead of checking other things.. I used to go to my primary care and my blood pressure would be 130/90 and he would say just lose some weight we are not going to put you on meds. although I have a family history of high blood pressure.
