In the past I would add Apple Cider vinegar to my water - heard about all the health benefits so figured I would try it - Never had enough on a regular basis to notice a differnce. I take a cinnamon suplement so I may add the ACV supplement as well - (just diagnosed Type 2 in Feb 2012) so I am willing to try most things to get into better health and manage this - Best wishes to all

I took vinegar (Bragg's Apple Cider with the mother, The cheap stuff from Walmart, Heinz, even white vinegar and dill pickle juice) for weight loss, blood sugar control, and leg cramps. I took this stuff for 2 years 1X/day and for 2 years 2X/day between 1-4 oz/day.. And I hoped that it would work as it is inexpensive and easy to take but alas, I found no change at all, nothing, nada, a big zero. I would not recommend it except on a salad. But it did not hurt anything or make it worse. So try it, if it works great, but don't expect much.

I took apple cider vinager yrs ago for it's pH value. Now I'm talking as long ago as the 1970's. I am pleased to see this discussion topic. It not only brings back memories but has excited me to get back to taking it again. I used to take one teaspoon in an 8 oz. glass of water. One caution I want to share is vinagar is an acid so be sure to brush your teeth after drinking. If you don't you run the risk of loosing the enamal on your teeth.

Never heard of drinking "normal vinagar",except an aunt who drank the vinagar from dill pickles. What I believe must people are talking about is Apple Cidar Vinagar. I haven't had any ill effects. It ts also great fot heart burn. Dom't forget to brush your teeth after. Pete

Be very careful with all additives, esp herbs. I have read about this and it seems that if you buy the wrong ones you can have some severe problems. Especially be aware of online offers.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can go back to the Apple Cider Vinegar and not upset my stomach?

I use regular vinegar. 2/3 teaspoons in a little water. Try pickle juice. It settles most peoples stomach. The regular vinegar ever big meal will knock those numbers down. I can stay off my medicines for a long time with it. If you keep a regular diet of the vinegar it works. But like most things . Once we start to do good we forget to continue.

You might want to ask your pharmisist. I went over my list of herbs and supplements with mine the other day to see if they would interact with my meds. He looked them up and found nothing of big import. They can be much easier to get a hold of than your doctor and they know where to find all that stuff. Then, they will also make a note in your file, so that if anything changes they can check it then.
I do know that vinegar is great for a lot of things. So if it is a thinner, then if you are on one, maybe it could help you recduce your need for a pill? You never know.

I use the organic vinegar with the Mother that I get at Kroger. It seems to be less acid on my stomach. My friend uses AC vinegar to manage her cholesterol.

Jenny,
What does the first sentence of your third paragraph mean? You almost have me convinced to give it a try, but I really don't understand that sentence.

The sentence means:
Weight loss is relevant the vinegar speeds up the break down process of the protein.

*remember I got this off the internet site and they always use big words instead of making it simple.
