I've had this pain by the side of my legs for days. It feels like a big ball lump the size of a golf ball and feels heavy but it really is only the size of a nickel. Anyways…So I took an Epsom salt bath yesterday. After soaking in the tub for about 10 mins, I read on the bag description that people with diabetes see suggested to speak to a physician before doing so. I was told specially to bathe in it because the salt is magnesium and soaks up into your skin and lowers your blood.

Howdy Dagger

My 2nd wife "Jem" would occasionally soak in the tub with Epsom salts. It was OKd by her Dr. She had diabetes (T1D, I think) plus also had congestive heart failure (among many other things). Having read in the DiabetesDaily forum discussing epsom salts below, I learned that perhaps she should have been more careful.

Here is somethng from Livestrong on this subject ~

However she also needed magnesium which she got through the skin that way. She also took slo mag for that too, I believe she needed it to help regulate her heartbeat, and she was losing a lot of Mg by the diuretics she was needing to use to lower the fluid in her pericardium.

It was like a constant science project living with Jem. But I loved it!

God's best

I know I have soaked my feet in it. I think, but could be wrong, from what I read, a diabetic shouldn't consume epsom salt.

Use it with caution. I have to do that too, and have pain on the side of my right knee. It is possible neuropathy in my case, I understand you are more newly diagnosed and neuropathy may not be an issue yet.

My check up was about neuropathy. But the doctor said it's too early in my stage to get it and my symptoms are not even close to neuropathy so it's totally something different that I will need to find out why I'm having these pains :(
