Hi everyone.
I had my doctors appointment on Monday and I must say that I am very pleased with him. He makes me feel like he actually gives a rat's rump about me. Which is very important to me.
He confirmed my thoughts on gastroparesis. I haven't had any tests yet but other things were more important. Like my eyes and my blood pressure. I already have diabetic retinopathy and need to get back to the eye doc. I'm now back on toporol xl for my blood pressure. So far the side effects are mild. The last time I took it I was on a bunch of other meds and I think maybe that's the reason I had such bad side effects. You can't mix a bunch of drugs and not expect something to go at least slightly bad. I'm also on a short acting insulin called Apidra. It is working great! Haven't had a blood sugar over 161 since I started on it Monday evening. Doc was wondering why no other doctor had put me on some a long time ago. Haven't gotten results of the blood work back yet, but will on my next visit.
I'm not feeling better but I am feeling better about my doctor!

That is great. Extremely important to trust and like your doctor. My husband finally found one he absolutely loves after 30+ years being a diabetic. When i suspected last year i was diabetic also, he asked me if i wanted to go to same Dr. Of course! She is awesome. No lecturing, positive attitude asks us what our goals are and helps us get there. Remembers small things that may not even pertain to our care. Very caring and gives us a lot of her time at our appts
