Since about 2008 I've been having some vague and seemingly unrelated symptoms. I would get very bloated and have serious heartburn and mild nausea at times. It wasn't very often, just maybe once a month or so. Then at times I would have bouts of severe diahrrhea and constipation. No big deal I thought. By 2010 there were times when I was eating that when I tried to swallow a bite of food it simply would not go. I became very nauseated and would end up throwing up all that I had just eaten and wasn't able to finish eating. Gradually I just kept feeling more and more bloated. Now I stay mildly nauseated, have pain in my stomach and I'm pretty sure that all of this has caused me to loose the nearly 50lbs I've lost.
I have an appointment with a new doctor on Monday and hope he can help me start down the road to finding out what is going on here. I'm thinking maybe it's gastroparesis from all the research I've done. But, it could be a lot of things I know.
Thanks for letting me vent everyone. No one understands diabetic like another diabetic.

I have been having simular problems plus headaches, memory loss and disorientation. I thought it might be a new condition. I started researching all the medications I am on and found that all of my symptoms could be actual side effects that can be caused by my meds. and combinations of them. I'm going to try and find out.

Please share what your doctor says. Too often we ignore those kinds of things so I hope you find your answer.

Sorry that you are living with all of that. I hope your new doctor will help you figure out what is happening. Well wishes for you my friend.

Have a blood test for Celiac Disease as well. Your symptoms sound like what I went through before diagnosis altho it could be many other things, too! You may not be at all, it's just a guess on my part, but you could ask your doctor about going gluten free and see if that helps!

This sounds like me from what you mentioned in the beginning. I hope it doesn't escalate to what you had to endure :( *hugs* and let us know the progress on how everything turns out.

It sure sounds like IBS! I had to deal with it about 15 years ago. The ieocecal valve between the small & large intestines becomes irritated. There's a list of foods I avoided for a few months. In addition I rarely eat fried foods.
Now I just started have the gelling Metamucil first thing each morning and all is well. Last summer metformin was causing indegestion so my dr prescribed a proton pump inhibitor. I don't like drugs so when Dr Weil was on Dr Iz he said to chew licorice root before each meal instead. I did and now everything is just fine.
But I'll tell you if the illeocecal valve is irritated and you avoid the foods that irritate it it can be so much better. Let me know if you need the list I mentioned.
I agree that gluten intolerance or celiac sis also a possibility! With the GMOs in our food not to mention other things.
A food diary might help you. Only sprouted wheat is safe other than quinoa!

Howdy C
Sounds like gastro to me as well, but of course check it out with your Dr.

I did have symptoms similar to that just prior to my needing to return to dialysis as well, with the exception of stomach pain and bloating.

Praying you will find out what is wrong and it won't be a big deal
