I saw the new doc today! I like him.. he spent an hour with me! He did agree with my former doc on one point..well he did say I have kidney disease…but he said Youre diabetic, you have kidney disease…he doesnt think I need to go to a kidney doc but if i want to he will send me.. I think he is sending me..

He looked at all my labs and several other syptoms, and said "you have an auto iummune disease!" and is sending me to a rhuemy.

It was like somebody looking at me with new eyes!

Oh! he also looked at my blood sugar numbers over the last few weeks and agreed with me there is no way my diabetes is under control!. I very impressed for these reasons and more!

I sent my old doc a very polite but honest and resectful email. thanked her for all the care she has givenen me over the years(ewe ve been togrether 15 yrs)

I know you and others may not undersytand this but that was very difficult for me.. I like her.. she was good to me ..this was a very hard dicetion for me.. I know Im right but.. it was still very hard.

by the way, old doc she said I didnt have kidney desease… he disagreed with her on that..just didnt feel I needed to see a kidney doc, but has no problem sending me to one.

I would agree with your new Doc on that one. It may be premature to get much in the way of benefits from the kidney doc until you drop to Stage 4 Severe CKD (GFR = 15-29 ml/min). And you, if I remember correctly are teetering on the edge of stages 2 and 3. This is especially true since you are contemplating moving and you'll have to set up all new Drs when you get there.

well its going to be awhile before Im able to move.. so im not against seeing her..I going to go at least once.. we will see after that…just want to talk to her.

Seeing my new doc soon in a couple hrs.accually excited- I know Im a little weird that way.. the only problem is if I like this doc I have to tell my old one..that I wont be seeing her anymore.

yes I know its a professional relationship it shouldnt be that big a deal.. for me it is.. I tend to bond with my medical team… thats why its taken so long to leave her…I know its the right thing for me..and all and stuff.. but this is still going to be a difficult letter to write.

You don't HAVE to write that letter. the Ins co will notify her of your change of PCPs.
But I suspect you feel you have to confront her about her missteps with you, and that might be something positive, for her, at least but maybe not if she is so unwilling to examine new thoughts.

Your positive attitude will do more for you than just about anything. I hope it all goes very well.
