Does anybody know if Glucerna Hunger Smart Shakes are for meal replacement or a between meal thing? I have searched for the answer and I just can't find a straight answer.

I know it is never healthy to replace a meal with a shake. I used to drink regular Glucerna chocolate shakes, they tasted good enough, and helped me stay on track, but they are so pricy and also, I began to look at the ingredients, and for me, all those chemicals bothered me, so many things that I did not know, what they were, so I stopped. I don't know, perhaps Glucerna is safe, after all if was recommended we had a coupon from my diabetes classes, but this is just my opinion.

Tabby that is two reasons why I don't use them. The cost. You can make a meal for the price of a four pack. The ingredients. It looked like I would be drinking a bottle of chemicals. In my own opinion I think shakes are for lazy people or people who don't want to take the time to prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner.

I asked my nutritionist and she said that I should never replace a meal with a shake unless it is absolutely necessary. I don't use them at all.

Perhaps you could go to ~ and ask the dietician there. You'll find a link to chat with the dietician on the lower left toward the bottom of the page. I also clicked on the "meal plan" link on the left column and under the 1300 cal plan, day 1 for Lunch it has a shake paired with graham crackers for lunch, When I went to the 1900 cal meal plan the shake in question does not appear anywhere in the first day's menu.

Perhaps that is why you cannot find a staight answer
