Is there any easier way to check your blood sugar especially when on the go besides pricking yourself

Howdy Shane
The only thing currently available is a continuous glucose monitor, See ~ http://diabetes.niddk.nih.gov/dm/pubs/glucose... unfortunately the sensor is inserted into the skin and has to be replaced every couple of days. One quote stood out: " Because currently approved CGM devices are not as accurate and reliable as standard blood glucose meters, users should confirm glucose levels with a meter before making a change in treatment." So that will not totally eliminate finger sticks. and then there is the stick into the tummy area for the CGM sensor every 2 or 3 days. So it is not painless to be sure.

But there has been a recent announcement (seen on DC) of a trial of contact lenses which measure glucose readings on the fluid on the eyeball. For more info see here ~ http://www.sci-tech-today.com/story.xhtml?sto...

It seems like since it is currently in trials the roll out may not be far behind. However that new way of measuring BG might not totally eliminate finger sticks either.

God's best to you and yours
