Hi my son was dx with Type 1 about 8 months ago. I'm still getting used to the life style change. My son is 9 years old, and so far he's adjusting well. I'm moving to Texas this summer and I'm concern about finding a new Dr, new friends and a support group. I really don't know how people go day to day with out a support group. I have no shame I need support this is so hard for me but I don't want my child to see my stress or my sadness. So far the best method for me is just discussing this disease with others.

You may want to check to see if there is a local ADA (American Diabetes Association) office near where you are moving. They would have a bunch of resources for both you and your son.

Howdy klovestexas

i don't know where in Tx you will be going, but one of the things you can do prior to your move is Google "Diabetes support groups in Texas" That should give you support groups close by (I know, TX is a mighty big state). In the mean time please avail yourself of our support, encouragement and suggestions. And even after you move as well!

Praying your move goes well and God's best for you and yours
