Hello Everyone! I have had type 1 diabetes since the age of 3, so I am no stranger to how to help control my diabetes. However, recently I have come into contact with other health problems such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I am only 26 years old so this bothers me a lot, but I try to watch what I eat an exercise at least 3 times a week. My last A1C reading was 6.8 so I doing well with me diabetes. Just not sure if these other comic actions have anything to do with my diabetes and if anyone else out there is experiencing the same complications? Any advice or knowledge would help :) thanks so much!

My blood work used to be perfect until I had diabetes. My cholesterol went up and so did my triglycerides. I was going crazy. With some diet changes, more exercise and some luck those have gotten much better. It may be also due to your thyroid, so you may want to have that checked out as well.

It is said that the Thyroid is the "master gland" in your body and if it is off just a bit many things, mostly negative, can happen.

you are not alone. as diabetics we have an increased risk of heart attack and stroke. the grim fact is that two out of three people with diabetes die from heart disease or stroke.
so it would certainly behoove you to stay on top of your "ABC's" - A1C, Blood Pressure and Cholesterol.
