Diabetic Medications---What Are The Choices, and The Differences in how they work?
I frequently see many questions being asked about diabetic medications. Some folks wonder if the medication they are taking is the best choice. Others wonder if they should try a different medication or if their medication is causing certain side effects such as blood glucose lows. The more we know and understand about the different medications and how they work, the better we can communicate with our doctors and take an active and positive role with our health care. Doctors choose specific medications usually with very specific reasons in mind, that pertain to each individual. The focus might be on insulin resistance, or possibly low insulin production, or maybe no insulin production. Different medications approach diabetes management in different ways.
What medication are you taking, and how is it working for you?
