I was diagnosed with type 2 on 12/2/13. November 4, 2013 I weighed 192lbs I'm 5'8 and 38 going to be 39 this year, when I was diagnosed I weighed 173lbs and I'm continuing to lose weight no matter how much I eat. I always kept in shape lifting weights, running I was mad and depressed when I was diagnosed bc I kept in shape ($&@! genetics). My health care provider is indian health service IHS, they put me on insulin and told a little of what not to eat. I want to gain my muscle and weight back (if I can). I was thinking of muscle builders like 1285 muscle will that help? I've been told skinny diabetics are the worst kind of diabetics which scares me. Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Been there. I'm 6'2'' 185 and 45. At my peak I was 210 and 7% body fat, wife likedme at that. I was eating roughly 4000 to 5000 calories a day. Working out 5-6 days a week. Tried few supplements some raised blood sugars some good. Not a fan of any thing from a pill. My best advice try to find a trainer who has worked with diabetic. Keep watching blood sugars before and after workouts. Adjust as needed. Be careful. If you feel good and doc says same thing tell everyone to stop telling you you look sickly. I get the same thing.

No chance of having a trainer, will train on my own tho, lol now I'm told I smell funny lol, I will keep on keeping on tho weights and running its winter wer I live right now so…do wat I can.

my family keep telling me I look sickly in my face and eyes is there any way to look healthy again?
