Last week, by chance, I met an ICU hospital nurse and we talked a little bit about my diabetes. She informed me that there are services to help diabetics and that there are ways for diabetics to get nearly all of their supplies for free. I found a service that can send me free testing supplies. I have not yet found a way to get my insulin for free. I also heard that diabetics are entitled to 6 free pairs of "wickering away" away socks every 6 months. I had never heard this before. Apparently these socks are designed to pull moisture away from the feet in order to help prevent fungal infections. Does anyone out there know how to find services for free insulin and socks? Or anything else that may help manage diabetes?
