I have tried the 2x a day and am now on the xr one, still same problem. Does anyone know of a diabetes med for new diabetes patients that does not do this?

Be sure to let your doctor know what's going on. Most of the time people adapt to metformin, but it's important that you talk with your doctor and get her advice. ~Lynn @Glucerna

thank you. I am keeping in constant touch with dr. Wanted to know if I would adapt soon, or give up within 2 weeks and try for something else.

Howdy Sapphire
I had horrible stinky flatulence (smelled like I crawled up inside myself and died) and got kicked out of the hospital for it (was working as a Certified Nurse Aide at the time), but I had not associated it with Met. (though I was on it at the time). A day or two later the problem disapated and didn't return.

I pray you find a solution to your problem

thank you for your info and good thoughts. I need them! Diabetes is only one of several conditions I have.
