welcome to the app. I've been T1 for 27 years and I was more defiant than in denial. My 1st eye surgery kind of kicked me in the …pants. This is a great place to meet some amazing people, share tips, and horror stories and stuff.

LISTEN TO YOUR BODY TALK.. If you are getting up a lot at night peeing, that means your sugar is up. Test, and adjust you BG. Diabetes will devastate your body, if you let it. Take control of your sugar, and feel better each day! Good Luck! Welcome!

We are sure glad you made it here now!

I didn't believe it when the doctor first told me, but the
proof came in my numbers when I started testing!

Now no matter what the numbers are, I will test and
always watch what I eat. That was foolishness to have
let myself get out whack. As I get older, I intend to
make it a goal to keep watch on my health.

Staying active on Diabetic Connect will also help to
concentrate on me.

Please stay plugged in. You help me just like I want to
help you.

Glad you are out of denial. The first thing you should do is take a Diabetes Education Class and self educate. Ask your doctor how many carbs you can have per meal/day and start from there. Ask to speak with a nutritionist who can help you plan meals. Write down questions for your doctor and ask away. Learn to count carbs, test as you should. Good Luck to you.

Just started this myself. Diagnosed last May, and dived head first into getting healthy, but I got frustrated with counting and poking myself all the time and I bottomed out and back to square one. Just looking for some encouraging friends.

Welcome! This is a great community to share and receive information. I truly understand the feeling of denial, but unfortunately, it just cannot be ignored.
