I would like some advice I've been going through a lot of health issues and complications which prevent me from doing any types of work I applied for Ssi and they denied me my guess is i wasn't to consistent and was changing doctors a lot but now I am appealing it with a lawyer and they need a statement from my doctor I told my primary doctor who love only saw twice and told her all my issues and well she shot the possibility down and pretty much ignored me so I'm hoping since I see my endocrinologist regularly that I can explain to her that at this point in time I'm unable to work my supportive bf will come with me and explain my urgent need for ssi since he sees me first hand I wonder if that'll make much of a difference I am seeking advice because i am at a loss of what to say or how to bring up the subject again since the first doc made me feel like a complete idiot

I lost my job shortly after being diagnosed with the big D. I went to the equal opurtunity employment agency. Thinking I should be able to keep my job because of the Disability Act. Well no luck. My company covered their own ass by offering me part time employment. Lost my job on my 20year anniversary with the company. I filed for disability benefits. Got a disabilty lawyer and about 6months later was accepted. It may have been even shorter time than that.

Oh wow I'm so sad to hear that but I'm glad that disability helped you I'm working with binder and binder to help appeal my denied case they need a letter from my endocrinologist honestly its embarrassing to me to go down this road but I do have a good support system of FAM and friends who see and believe I need this. I'm seeing my endocrinologist tomorrow to talk to her this is just all so new and foreign to me I don't know what to do other then have my bf with me and explain on my behalf as to why I need a statement from he doc

I know the routine. I was told to file and would probably be denied. Then I would get a lawyer and then I would probably be approved. Didn't make much sence to draw it out. So we went directly to a Disabilty lawyer. The rest is history…Good Luck and hang in there.

Having diabetes is not enough of a valid point to be eligible to not "work". What other complications? A disability. Yes
