I am 21 years old and was diagnosed with type 1 when I was 19. For the past year and four months I have been on an insulin pump. As much as I like having it versus multiple injections a day, it is starting to really be a pain. I don't have much fat on my body so I can really only stick the needle in my stomach and those sites are building up scar tissue and becoming impossible to use. I am becoming incredibly overwhelmed and would love to her any advice from people who have been on an insulin pump. I'm scared that I've already ruined my stomach and I'm only a year into the pump. How long can I keep doing this??

I've tried my upper inner thighs before but I remember it hurting extremely bad and I ended up with extremely high blood sugar after a meal so I was scared that it was related to where my pump was located

My husband has been on one for 30+ years and has only used stomach. He said scar tissue inevitable. If u have someone to help, i put his sites around his back mid section. This will allow front to heal a bit n become less sore. Have u tried ur upper thigh?

I'm tiny too. I use my hips and my upper thighs. It's not as crucial to need much fat with the pump you just have to explore. I know it's kind of scary to do but it helps.
