hi, i flew out of the house this morning not eating and not taking my insulin. did not want to miss my hospital group. when i arrived back home it was noon and time to eat lunch. rather than take my regular noon dosage of insulin i thought i better take the breakfast dosage instead so i took the Lantus 61 units and the Humalog 25 units with lunch. my regular lunch dosage is just Humalog 25.

My question is was it ok to take my breakfast dosage at noon time or should i just passed on that dosage and taken my lunch time dosage?

For me I cover for what my bs is and any food I eat
One thing that helped me a lot was getting to know how to count carbs .
The book The Calorie King helped a lot too .

Wow, that's a lot of insulin for Type 2. You definitely want to take the Lantus since that's long acting and works for 24 hours. The Humalog is to be taken for the short run to coincide with your meal whenever you actually eat it. Best suggestion is to test often and aim for a range of 80 to 180. This will result in your A1c in the 6's which is perfectly fine. Hope all is well…and Merry Christmas.
