You're getting some great help here, and it will surely help others as well. That's what's wonderful about this site - that we can learn and help each other out.

I have not read through the replies, terribly awful of me, so you probably already heard this, but do a web search for free ascentia supplies; I know they are around; Hit the web and get more than you need if you have to so you don't run out too soon. Look through and sign on different diabetic web sites as well, there are answers out theere, don't give up,lots of luck Claudia, when I am done here I will do a search too. and post the sites to you if I find what you need,ok.

I have found a site and put in a request for you; http://www.freedomed.com/under my name and email address; so if you want to send me your email address through mine so I can get your address to send them to mail to, if they answer as they said they would, I will gladly do so. I am not yet one of your friends so I can not send you a private message yet, my email is lilmarm52@yahoo.com small and I don't give this to just anyway unless I think I can help them, so feel honored, lol, I really mean it though, you are in need and I want to help. Claudia http://www.americandiabetes.com/supplies/stri... this is another site that offers free test strips if you apply; I will browse a couple more

Try the parnership for prescription assistance. their website is https://www.pparx.org/ppaday/

They can put you in touch with programs for every Rx that you take or need.

Mike, I too am unemployed and cannot afford my glucose strips. It you will change metes to Accu-Check Aviva or any Accu-Check meter, Roche Diag. Patient Assistance Program will send you your strips for FREE if you meet the income guidelines. Here is the number to call. 1-866-441-4090. They have been sending me strips every three months for a year. I wear a pump and stick 4 times a day. Hope this helps. Sloan

Hi Mike,

Those ascensia breeze disks are so expensive that not lots of people use them. It might be hard to find some for free. If you can't find any, go with a cheaper meter while you are out of work. Regular test strips are easier to get from local free clinics for those in need.

Just about every city and town has a website called "Freecycle." Do a web search for your city and check on there for the disks. You can also say you would like to have some and maybe someone on there will reply. Just a thought but meanwhile,,,lots of luck with your search.

You could try writing them. I would! It never hurts to ask and about this time of year, the big companies will be looking for those tax deductions. Let us know if they comply.

Hi Mike. I'm just getting back on here after a brief time off and saw your discussion. So many people are having the same problem these days. Very frustrating, I know. Have you asked your physician and your pharmacist about some possible help obtaining these? I did not look to see where you are located, but there are usually local (county) programs, etc., that can give you some direction and help as well. I wish you luck and a much better New Year.

Mike, the cheapest I could find was on Ebay for around $40.00. That didn't include shipping and handling. My niece works at a pharmacy and gets mine at 50% off and they are still expensive. Maybe someone knows of a state program for Alabama and Mississippi and ALL states to help get these necessary strips! Take care, Angie
