I am new to this and also was diagnosed in August with type 2. since then doing daily injections and metformen 2 twice daily. My question is that when I took my sugar levels last night it was around 90 but when I got up and only had 1 cup of coffee with cream and sweet and low then checked it it was 158. I do not understand what made it go up so high.

It was more than likely a liver dump. At night when your are asleep, the liver can sense when your glucose level is dropping and it dumps glucose into your system to raise the level. In the morning when you wake up and test your numbers will be higher. Try to eat some kind of protien just before bed. This will help to keep your blood sugar level during the night.
