It's been 4 days and I'm still craving for cigs. Do you think it's because I'm taking too many other meds too? Or should I wait a few weeks before giving up??

The way I quit smoking was I went to the E-Cigs. I buy the ones that are flavored, and when I feel the need to have nicotine I'll puff on that, but I find myself rarely using those even now days.

About getting sick on Metformin. Yes, I've experienced that. I am taking 1000 mg Metformin twice a day. You MUST take it with food…but either way, there is a chance of becoming nauseated and unable to function.
I got so bad (nauseated), I just quit all meds for several weeks!! Then I got scared and started taking everything again. It's the ringing in my ears that I cannot stand.

Part of the desire to smoke is chemical and the other part is habit. The pill will help you with the chemical part, but you will still have to work on the habit. My mom did it with a toothpick and my dad did it with gum. (neither one had a pill to help them) But they occupied their oral senses with something to take the place of having a cigarette in their mouth. You just have to figure out what your habit is and then find a replacement for it.

Don't give up

Lol yeah…im in minnesota and me and my bfs apartment doesn't have a patio because he said if we get one, I'll just continue to smoke and he hates it so whenever I want to go smoke., I have to walk my ass on outside and brave the cold for a cig. It's probably working because my habbit is craving one but I don't want to get up. I noticed today I could tolerate not smoking so often though. Sometimes I use my phone stylus to put in my mouth or I'll start wit sugar free popsicyles mmmm

Doctor should have started you off on a starter kit of chantix..You take one pill a day for the first week and still be able to smoke. This allows the chantix to build up in your system. The second week is when you stop. It doesn't eliminated the urge to smoke completely at first. But it defiantly helps…Hang in there and good luck
